Grounds and gardens at Saxon Street are available for a range of public events and activities and will be accepted on a case-by-case basis, determined by the guidelines and selection criteria.
The site can accomodate regular small-scale activities and a selected number of large scale, community-focused events.
We are looking for programs and initiatives big and small, experimental and mainstream, diverse and inclusive, to help define the potential of the site. Diversity of use is critical to the success of the project.
Siteworks is a council asset and its use over the coming years is critical to informing the future of the site.
This is an active research-driven project, more than a venue for hire. This is an exciting opportunity for all of us to contribute to the future of the site.
Integral to using the Grounds at Siteworks is to provide feedback through an acquittal process.
The acquittal is a reciprocal relationship and as part of the process we are able to provide you with further professional development to support your next activity or project.
As part of the Siteworks program we have an onsite documentry team. As part of your booking we may request to film or photograph for our archive and highlights page.
You may be contacted by one of the Lightworks film crew as part of your booking. Please advise them if you give permision for documentation for our highlights page.
Registrations will be selected based on the following criteria:
- Availability of grounds
- Suitability of site facilities
- Meeting community needs
Grounds are made available to members of the community on the basis that they are not used explicitly for commercial, advertising or canvassing-related events. Fundraising that directly benefits residents or groups within the Moreland area is welcome.
Feedback and acquittals are required as a condition of use.
