Commonrooms commence operations in November 2016. Please register your community group for future involvement and access to Commonrooms.

Commonrooms are a low-cost facility available to the community and provides flexible meeting, education and skills-sharing spaces for day, week and month-long use.

Diversity of use is critical to the success of the project. We are looking for programs and initiatives big and small, experimental and mainstream, diverse and inclusive, to help define the potential of the site.

Siteworks is a council asset and its use over the coming years is critical to informing the future of the site.

This is a live research-driven project, more than a venue for hire.  This is an exciting opportunity for all of us to contribute to the future of the site.

Integral to using Commonrooms is to provide feedback through an acquittal process.

The acquittal is a reciprocal relationship and as part of the process we are able to provide you with support for your next meeting at commonroom.

As part of the Siteworks program we have an onsite documentry team. As part of your  booking we may request to film or photograph for our archive and highlights page.

You may be contacted by one of the Lightworks film crew as part of your booking. Please advise them if you give permision for documentation for our highlights page.

Registrations will be selected based on the following criteria:

  • Availability of commonrooms
  • Meeting community needs
  • Suitability of site facilities

Registration will be accepted from community groups who meet at least one of the following criteria:
